Arsenal need quality additions if they are to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
James Rodriguez is reportedly available for transfer
Arsenal fans were excited with their club’s early movement in the transfer window as they signed Swiss star Granit Xhaka for a fee believed to be in the region of £30 million.
The early excitement has been replaced by agitation and frustration, however, as further signings have not materialised with failed pursuits of Jamie Vardy and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
A key area of the pitch that the Gunners need to strengthen is in the wide attacking positions. Alexis Sanchez suffered an ankle injury while on duty with Chile in the Copa America and posted these horrific pictures to his Twitter account:
With only six weeks remaining until the Premier League season kicks off, it is highly unlikely he will be fit and ready, judging by those pictures.

Another worry for Arsenal fans is the form and fitness of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Neither have excelled in their time at the Emirates Stadium, nor have they proven themselves to be resilient enough to cope with the rigours of Premier League football.
You have to wonder if they would have been offered new lucrative contracts had they not been English. I i’s almost as if Arsene Wenger chooses to keep them as part of his squad just to keep up with the British quota.
A fantastic option for Arsenal would be Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez. The Independent reported earlier this year that the Colombian will me made available for transfer to fund Madrid’s moves for key transfer targets.
Rodriguez would turn Arsenal into real title contenders
With the 24-year-old reportedly available, the Gunners should not hesitate in making a move for the South American superstar. He would instantly improve their attack and could play anywhere across the front-line.
Having him wide right and Sanchez out on the left would give Wenger the option of inter-changing the pair throughout the game, thus creating variation in their play without making any changes to the personnel.
He would also bring with him a winning mentality that the Gunners so desperately miss in their setup, with a Champions League medal to his name.
In 26 La Liga appearances (17 starts) Rodriguez managed an impressive return of seven goals and eight assists. He is an incredible talent who deserves far more than a place on Madrid’s substitutes bench. Should a move to Arsenal come to fruition, he could reignite his career, and the Gunners would provide him with a platform to re-establish himself as one of the world’s best players.
