Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily Podcast, Robert Snodgrass has been full of praise for West Ham coach Kevin Nolan.
West Ham have been brilliant this season, but one thing that isn’t spoken about all that much is the work that goes on behind the scenes at the London Stadium.
Yes, David Moyes has earned all sorts of plaudits this season, but his coaching staff don’t get anywhere near the credit they deserve.
Snodgrass says that Nolan is absolutely brilliant to work with.
“We had some young lads at West Ham and me and Mark Noble would take the young lads out and do some shooting drills with them, do crossing. Stuart Pearce was unbelievable as well. Kevin Nolan was different class, you know, he was always working on the young boys’ weaknesses,” Snodgrass said.
This is great to hear if you’re a West Ham fan.
The Hammers have some talented youngsters coming through right now, with Mipo Odubeko looking like one of the best teenagers in the country at the moment.
Of course, talent isn’t worth anything if a player isn’t coached properly, but it seems as though the crop coming through at the London Stadium are in good hands with Nolan’s work.
Fingers crossed we see Nolan’s efforts bear fruits in the coming years.
