Speaking on his Podcast, Phil Hay has been discussing Crysencio Summerville after a remarkable performance against Liverpool last weekend.
The Dutchman enjoyed what may end up being a career-defining performance at Anfield last weekend, and now, he looks ready to kick-on and become a star.
Summerville shocked everyone inside Anfield with his last-minute goal last week, but there will have been plenty of onlookers in The Netherlands who weren’t too surprised.
Indeed, Hay says that he’s spoken to someone who knew the attacker during his youth at Feyenoord and he says that he’s been told that Summerville was always the best player in his age group throughout his youth.

Summerville’s stardom
Hay shared what he’s head about this young man.
“I have spoken to someone who knew Summerville when he was younger at Feyenoord and they did say that he was always the best in his age group, every time he moved up he was the outstanding player or one of the players who stood out and they made the point that when that happens people think it’s quite easy or that they’ve made it,” Hay said.

It’s one thing to stand out in an academy, but it’s something else entirely to stand out at a club like Feyenoord.
As one of The Netherlands’ biggest clubs, some incredible talents have passed through Feyenoord in recent years.
The likes of Jurrien Timber, Noa Lang, Gini Wijnaldum and Stefan de Vrij have all played in that academy in recent years, so for Summerville to stand out in the way he did, he must be something special.
Leeds may have a gem on their hands here, and that goal against Liverpool at Anfield could be just the beginning for this budding star.
