Speaking on the ITV Football Show, Tyrone Mings has spoken about Ollie Watkins’ attitude and his desire to always be improving.
Watkins has had an incredible debut season in the Premier League, and that has now been recognised with an England call-up, and with Mings joining him on international duty, he was understandably asked about how he’s getting on in the camp.
“Yeah, good. He’s a thinker and he’s a worrier, but in a good way. He’s always seeking improvements in his game, and he loves to get better and loves to know that he’s contributed in a game. As a striker ultimately you get judged on scoring goals and finishing chances, rather than link-up play and pressing defenders and the stuff that kind of goes unnoticed,” Mings said.
“He’s been a positive addition to the Aston Villa squad, and I think he’s so deserving of his England call-up.”

It seems as though the centre-back really rates Watkins, and to be fair, he should.
Watkins has been a fantastic addition to this Villa team, and while the Midlands club struggled for goals last season, the ex-Brentford star has added a new element to their attack.
It’s so hard for a striker to catch Gareth Southgate’s eye these days, especially with the likes of Harry Kane, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Danny Ings and Callum Wilson fighting for spots, but Watkins has just been that good.
The fact that he’s always striving to improve is a massive testament to his mentaility, and we can only hope he continues to get better and better.
