Speaking on The FPL Show, Ollie Watkins has been speaking about the best free-kick takers at Aston Villa.
Villa are blessed with a number of brilliant dead ball specialists such as Lucas Digne and Emi Buendia. However, according to Watkins, Douglas Luiz is the best free-kick taker at the club.
Watkins did reserve praise for Digne’s free-kick ability, but he states that Luiz is indeed the best at the club when it comes to taking this type of set-piece.

Watkins praised Digne when asked which defender is the most likely to get a goal or an assist.
“Lucas Digne, maybe from his free kicks I reckon and his crossing too, although Cashy has a few assists recently too, but I’m going to go for Lucas,” Watkins said.
However, when he was asked which player is the best from free-kicks he named Luiz as the Villans’ top-dog.
“Douglas, Douglas always practices, so yeah we will go for him.”

Watkins may believe that Douglas Luiz is the best free-kick taker at the club, but the truth is that Villa are blessed with a number of great set-piece takers.
Lucas Digne showed at Everton just how brilliant he is from these situations, while Emi Buendia is also a fantastic ball-striker.
Just imagine the options Villa would have had if they’d signed James Ward-Prowse when they were linked with him in the summer.
