Thierry Henry has claimed that Newcastle and Everton target, Thomas Muller, ‘always has a habit of coming up with something’ after he provided yet another assist for Bayern Munich, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (16/02/22 at 10:23 pm).

Bayern Munich survived a scare in the Champions League on Wednesday night when Kingsley Coman netted a 90th-minute equaliser during their first-leg knockout match against RB Salzburg.

Muller, who is seemingly attracting interest from the likes of Newcastle and Everton, provided a well-timed cushioned header for Coman to score the all-important goal on Austrian soil for the German side.

According to German outfit, Bild, Everton, who now have legendary midfielder Frank Lampard at the helm, want to bring Muller to Merseyside soil in the summer.

At the age of 32, the technically-gifted forward would be a great addition for many Premier League sides, as Henry praised him for doing the business again.

“Let’s, first and foremost, talk about this goal,” said Henry. “If he (Coman) didn’t stay as a winger on the side, then he wouldn’t score.

“But Thomas Muller. Do you know how many times I would have seen the guy maybe try to keep the ball or flick it too hard?

“The ball came, he just made sure that he was going to cushion it and keep the ball alive. I know it doesn’t sound like it’s much.

“But this guy always has a habit of coming up with something, then you can see Coman is the guy who comes in and scores.”

It would be some coup from either Everton or Newcastle, who won’t be in Europe next season, to lure Muller towards their direction.

The World Cup winner has perhaps been one of the most underrated players of the past decade and someone who is still going strong ahead of his 33rd birthday in September.

This season, Muller has scored ten goals and provided a mammoth 21 assists from 32 games in all competitions, including 18 assists from 22 Bundesliga matches.

Despite being such a tall presence on the field of play, Muller has such a deft touch, quick-thinking intelligence and the ability to play in any type of system.
