Jordan Lukaku, the brother of ex-Premier League striker, Romelu, has told Soccer Bible’s Instagram story that he was an Arsenal fan growing up.
The 26-year-old shared that he was a ‘big fan’ of the 1998 France World Cup-winning team, and given that Arsenal have had a plethora of stars from that side of the pond, it’s no surprise he started repping those in North London.
From midfield powerhouses, such as Emmanuel Petit and Patrick Vieira, and later on, and perhaps the greatest of them all, in Thierry Henry, the Arsenal team was blessed with some of the greats from France and led by perhaps their greatest domestic coach in Arsene Wenger.
Nonetheless, Arsenal fans will love the comments from Jordan Lukaku and why he started to support the club.
“When I was a kid I used to support Arsenal because I was a big fan of the French national team at the 98′ World Cup,” said Lukaku.
“And the Arsenal team always had a lot of Arsenal players, so that’s why I was a fan of them.”

It would be interesting to see J.Lukaku’s take on Arsenal now because they are the shadow of the team that was feared in England’s top-flight all those years ago.
The French connection still vibes through the club, with striker Alexandre Lacazette being a key performer for Mikel Arteta during the past few months.
Other highly-rated talents, such as William Saliba and Matteo Guendouzi have been loaned out, but they would have to bring something special next season to transform this Arsenal side.
