Arsenal central defender Ben White has spoken highly of the Leeds United fans on the club’s official website.
What’s the story?
White has said that whenever he played at a packed Elland Road, he found it great.
The England international centre-back has added that he found playing against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium while on loan at Leeds also enjoyable.
White spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Leeds from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 24-year-old joined Arsenal on a permanent contract from Premier League rivals Brighton in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners paid £50 million (Sky Sports) for White.

Ben White reflects
White told Arsenal’s official website: “When I was at Leeds on loan playing in a full Elland Road was always great – a really big atmosphere.
“In fact I played against Arsenal that year at the Emirates, in the FA Cup. It was 1-0 to Arsenal, but I think Leeds probably deserved to win on the day, so it is a bittersweet memory for me.
“We lost the game but playing at the Emirates for the first time was great.
“You always want to play in front of big crowds and that’s what being on loan is about as well, being introduced to these big games slowly.”

Ben White was made at Leeds United
White is going from strength to strength at Arsenal.
The defender is now an England international.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a good season at Brighton in 2020-21, and it did not come as a surprise that Arsenal signed him this past summer.
It is very encouraging to see White speak so fondly of Leeds.

After all, it was at Leeds that White was made.
Working under Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa on a daily basis helped the defender develop his game.
After all, before joining the West Yorkshire club on loan, the defender had played for Newport County and Peterborough United.
No one could have predicted the astonishing rise of White.
