Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Diogo Jota has given an update on how his injury recovery is going.

The Portuguese attacker has undoubtedly been one of the Reds’ best players this season, but he’s missed the Merseyside outfit’s last two league games with a knee injury sustained in the Champions League against FC Midtylland.

Fortunately, it seems as though his injury recovery is going quite well, but the former Wolves man has said that patience is key when nursing a knee problem.

“Now I am supporting from the outside it is not easy – it’s even harder when you need to suffer as a fan and you can do literally nothing to help the team on the field!” Jota told Liverpoolfc.com.

“But I’m doing my best to be back as soon as possible. Things are going well but knee injuries are always complicated so we cannot rush things, but I am doing well and I will be back on the field as soon as possible, like I say.”

It’s great to hear that Jota says things are going well, but it’s a shame to hear that he’s not back quite yet.

It wasn’t thought that Jota’s issue would be serious when Klopp first spoke about it as he described him as a doubt for the Fulham game, but now it seems as though he will be out for weeks.

As much as we’re gutted to see Jota on the sidelines after his bright start to the season, he’s right when he says his return can’t be rushed as that could only aggravate the problem he’s currently suffering with.

Fortunately, Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are more than good enough to hold down the fort until Jota is back in action.
