Peter Schmeichel has suggested that there is ‘always a mistake’ in Liverpool’s number one Alisson Becker and how Manchester City’s Ederson, who is his Brazil teammate, is the better player.
For Brazil boss Tite, it’s Alisson who is the number one between the sticks and he has donned the gloves for two of his nation’s World Cup games in Qatar.
As the South American giants prepare to take on South Korea for a place in the quarter-finals on Monday night, Alisson will be, once again, expected to take the gloves.

On the Premier League stage, the duo have been outstanding and set the tone for the rest, especially with some of the title tussles their two sides have been involved in.
Whilst someone like Alisson is the best at one v one situations, not many, if anyone, can match his fellow countryman when it comes to distribution.
Either way, when Manchester United treble-winner Schmeichel was talking about the duo, this is what he had to say, as he told beIN SPORTS (03/12/22 at 9:05 pm).
“I like the way Ederson plays,” said Schmeichel. “I like his style. I like how good he is with his feet and people question him.
On if he would take Ederson over Alisson: “I like Ederson. I like the way he plays. When people say ‘yeah, he’s good with his feet’. He’s very, very good as a goalkeeper as well. He makes big saves. Crucial saves.
“He fits into that Manchester City team so well. Therefore, I can’t say I prefer one to the other because I don’t know how he (Ederson) would fit into the Brazil team. I think the goalkeeper that you pick for your team has to fit into the way you play.
“If you can point anything towards Alisson. Everything (he has) is the traditional goalkeeping saving. One v One. all of that. Coming for crosses, he’s very good. But there is always a mistake. It’s like he is overestimating the time on the ball he has. There is always something where you are a little bit worried. I never have that with the other one.”

ALISSON HAS BEEN ONE OF KLOPP’S BEST SIGNINGS
When the Reds secured Alisson’s services for a then-record deal for a keeper at £67 million in 2018, he joined from Roma (Sky Sports) with the club yet to win any major honours under Jurgen Klopp.
But fast forward to the present and he has won it all on the domestic stage with the Merseyside giants.
Added with Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho, the trio were the last jigsaw pieces for an all-action Liverpool side that just needed that extra push during the early stages of Klopp’s tenure.
Well, Alisson provided more than a push because, with all due respect to the likes of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet, there is daylight in terms of quality between the Brazilian and the now-departed duo.
