Jose Mourinho has admitted to TalkSPORT that he is already missing football after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last week.

Mourinho parted ways with Tottenham last Monday, in what was a shock decision by Daniel Levy.

While few expected the Spurs boss to last much longer at Tottenham, Levy’s actions just before the League Cup final did come as a surprise.

Mourinho has not been out of work for long though, as he has already announced plans to join TalkSPORT as a pundit for Euro 2020 in the summer.

And Mourinho admits that he is already finding it tough without having football in his life.

He said: “I am totally absorbed by football. I just love to work. In this moment I am not working for a week and I am missing it already.”

Tottenham’s results since Mourinho left have been rather mixed.

Spurs came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1 in the first game which Ryan Mason took interim charge of.

However, their display in the League Cup final was well short of the quality required to have any chance of winning.

Spurs never showed their best at Wembley, with Mason setting up fairly defensively, and many have questioned whether the more experienced Mourinho may have done a better job in a one-off game.

Quite when Mourinho’s next managerial job will come is uncertain, but it is difficult to see how he returns to a Premier League club again, after failing to meet expectations with Spurs.
