Well, we don’t know much about Thiago Alcantara’s future, but we do know that he isn’t in Liverpool at the moment.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the newly-crowned Premier League champions.

Liverpool staff members Andreas Kornmayer and Mona Nemmer have both encouraged Jurgen Klopp to push ahead with trying to sign the 29-year-old [The Independent].

Thiago and his young family are back in their native Spain at the moment, evident by the picture that he posted on Twitter yesterday.

And here’s how Liverpool fans responded to the social media update:

The Reds don’t exactly need a marquee signing because, well, they’ve just won the Champions League and Premier League in the space of 12 months.

But Liverpool supporters haven’t seen a marquee signing come through the door in two years, with Takumi Minamino signed in January, after teenagers Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg were recruited last summer.

But Thiago would definitely be a big-name addition and it’ll be interesting to see whether he winds up on Merseyside.
