HITC understands that Alphonso Davies’s camp have informed Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Liverpool, that the Bayern Munich star has decided to move join Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have been pursuing Davies for more than 12-months, whilst Bayern have tried to persuade him to extend his contract – which expires in the summer of 2025.

Bayern have always made it clear to Davies they would work hard to keep him, but also confirmed they would not let him leave for free in 2025 and would see him this year, if the refused fresh terms.

No Bayern deal

Now whilst sources with knowledge of the situation insist that Davies has not agreed terms with Real…yet, he has informed Bayern that he won’t be signing his deal.

Real chief Florentino Perez has again entrusted his recruitment team led by Juni Calafat to land their targets, and 2024 looks to be a big year. 2023 saw Calafat secure Jude Bellingham’s signing, but this year he is set to be followed into the Santiago Bernabeu by Davies and Kylian Mbappe, whilst Brazilian starlet Endrick is also due to arrive.

English clubs made aware

Davies’s impending move to Madrid has not come as a huge shock to his English suitors – Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, as HITC revealed earlier this year, they always suspected that the Canadian was bound for the Spanish capital.

Now sources have told HITC that the Premier League clubs have been informed by Davies’s camp that he has confirmed his intention is to join Madrid.

Bayern are now looking around Europe at potential options to replace Davies and AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez is believed a player they hold in high regard. HITC sources also believe that Manchester City’s Nathan Ake and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella are of interest to the club too.
