West Bromwich Albion are considering a new bid for Karlan Grant after their initial offer of £16 million was rejected by Huddersfield Town, according to the Birmingham Mail.
While the Baggies have secured their place back in the Premier League after two seasons away, one major question mark hangs over Slaven Bilic’s squad – who is going to score the goals to keep them in the top flight?
Neither Charlie Austin, Kenneth Zohore nor Hal Robson-Kanu scored more than ten times in the Championship after all – and it is hard to see any of the strikers at West Brom’s disposal finding the net regularly against the Liverpools, Man Citys and Tottenhams of this world.
Whether Grant is the man to lead the Baggies to safety, however, remains to be seen.
Reports from the Midlands claim West Brom have had a £16 million bid rejected, although they could soon make a new offer that would see the former Charlton Athletic youngster become their new record signing.

West Brom are already committed to paying a huge sum to bring Grady Diangana back to the Hawthorns after a scintillating loan spell from West Ham.
Grant found the net 19 times for a struggling Huddersfield side last season and, in the second half of 2018/19, looked the part at Premier League level too.
Four goals in nine starts was an impressive return in a side that finished rock bottom.
“We treat Karlan like a Premier League player, we think he has the potential to be a Premier League player,” former Terriers boss Danny Cowley told Examiner last year.
The report adds that Bilic is a big fan of the speedy and versatile Grant, with Zohore up for sale after starting just five league games last season.
