Universidad de Chile starlet Dario Osario could join Nathan Collins at Wolves after the Premier League club agreed a £4 million fee for the Real Madrid and Manchester City target, as reported by TNT Sport.

It’s been a frustrating summer for Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters.

But – with Ruben Neves likely to stick around, with Joao Moutinho extending his stay for a further 12 months and with one of English football’s most exciting young centre-halves bound for Molineux – there is a ray of sunlight piercing through the Black Country clouds.

Nathan Collins, The Athletic say, will undergo a medical at Wolves ahead of a £20.5 million move from relegated Burnley.

And the commanding, ball-playing Collins could be joined in Bruno Lage’s ranks by a teen sensation who, at the age of just 18, already has two caps for the Chile national team.

According to TNT Sport, Wolves have agreed a £4 million fee for Dario Osorio.

A player who was just six months old when Denis Irwin bid farewell to professional football back in 2004 is unlikely to hog the headlines quite like Collins; Wolves’ first senior centre-back signing since Willy Boly completed a permanent move from Porto four years ago.

But, with Corriere dello Sport reporting that Manchester City and Real Madrid had also expressed an interest in Osorio (above, left), do not underestimate just how impressive a coup this could be. Especially if Osorio fulfils the potential that has seen him labelled the shining ‘jewel’ of Chilean football.

“He is a tall, very fast player,” explains Universidad’s sporting director Manuel Mayo. “Osorio shoots spectacularly and plays as if he were at home.

“It is logical that foreign clubs ask about him.”

There are understandable concerns that – after just 13 first-team games – Osorio could be making the leap to Europe too soon. The teen’s mother admitted recently that ‘we don’t want him to leave yet’.

And the last time Wolves beat Real Madrid to the signature of a baby-faced, up-and-coming forward, Rafa Mir played just twice in the Championship before returning to Spain. Mir is now back in La Liga with Sevilla.

Only time will tell whether Osorio goes the same way.
