David Seaman has shared that he is still backing Manchester City to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title this season.

The former England goalkeeper shared that, previously, he thought the Premier League title race was ‘almost done’.

But, then Manchester City dropped points, including their goalless draw against Crystal Palace last time out, whilst Liverpool’s train continued to steamroll forward.

There is that all-important Manchester City-Liverpool fixture to be played at the Eithad next month that might decide the fate of the title.

But, whilst Pep Guardiola and his players have had their blip, Seaman thinks Jurgen Klopp’s side will now experience theirs, as he told Sky Sports.

“I had this conversation on my Seaman Says podcast and I said ‘it’s almost nearly done’ when Man City were so far ahead,” said Seaman.

“I couldn’t see any way that Man City were dropping points. Yet they have.

“The only thing on the back of my mind is that Man City have had their little blip of dropping points. Liverpool haven’t.

“Somewhere along the way, I feel Liverpool will drop points. For me, I am still going to go Man City.”

It’s not just the Premier League that both Liverpool and Manchester City are fighting tooth and nail for because they have also been pitted together in the FA Cup semi-final.

The Reds already have one trophy in their cabinet – the League Cup – and they will be vying to add more this term.

The month of April could prove to be very significant in what the outcome will be because if Liverpool come out on top, then their fans might just be able to dream of things they have never dreamt of before.

Either way, the rivalry between both Liverpool and Man City will go up a few more notches during these next few weeks.
