Danny Gabbidon has raved about Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka on BBC Sport for his goal against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The former Wales international defender was hugely impressed by Xhaka for the way he scored the third goal for Arsenal in the London derby against Palace.
The £30 million (Sky Sports) Switzerland international midfielder found the back of the net in the 55th minute of the Premier League game.
Leandro Trossard played a neat ball to put Xhaka in behind the Palace defence.
And the midfielder found the back of the net despite falling to the ground under a challenge.
Praise for Arsenal midfielder Grant Xhaka v Crystal Palace
Gabbidon said: “It’s a tight on initially with the offside so it will be checked but Xhaka starts the move and finishes it. He gets the other side of Tomkins.
“Brilliant movement, just positioning of Xhaka, he is almost like a centre forward. He doesn’t stand still and he continues his run and gets a bit of luck with the finish.”

Important win for the Gunners
In our view, the win for Arsenal against Crystal Palace is massive for the Gunners in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners are now firmly in control of the Premier League title race.
Manchester City are not going to make it easy for Arsenal in the final weeks and months of the season.
However, Arsenal can now be less worried.
The Gunners are going into the international break with a very healthy lead at the top of the table.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will make it clear to his players that they cannot get complacent after the break, but things are looking very rosy for them.
