Report in Spain claims Leeds recruitment chief Victor Orta is heading for the exit.

Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United (3L) looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta is ‘almost given’ to leave the club this summer according to a new report in Spain.

El Perodico De Aragon report Orta is a candidate to take up a role at Deportivo La Coruna, and insist he is likely to head back to his homeland regardless.

The report reads: “Víctor Orta, who plays this role in English Leeds, has options and, in fact, in England it is almost given that he will leave the club to return to Spain.”

A general view of Elland Road during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Fulham at Elland Road on December 13, 2014 in Leeds, England.

Orta joined Leeds United last summer after a spell at Middlesbrough.

He has had mixed success with many fans blaming him for the club’s lack of success this season.

Owner Andrea Radrizzani has come under pressure from supporters to axe Orta, and while he has been unwilling to do so thus far, the sporting director could yet elect to simply walk away.

In addition to Orta, question marks remain over Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom, who has won just two games since taking over at the start of February.

He faces former side Barnsley this weekend at Elland Road, who sit just 22nd in the Championship. Leeds are in 14th.
