Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Almen Abdi has stated that he is happy to reunite with Fernando Forestieri.

As quoted by the Sheffield Star, new Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Almen Abdi has stated that he is looking forward to linking up with Fernando Forestieri once again.
Wednesday recently managed a major coup by securing the services of Abdi from Watford for an undisclosed fee and the midfielder’s arrival has certainly given the fans a huge boost.
Abdi played a crucial role in Watford’s promotion winning campaign from the Championship in 2014/15 as well as helping the Hornets comfortably avoid relegation from the Premier League last season and the Swiss international could well inspire Wednesday to promotion during the upcoming campaign.
Only time will tell what sort of an impact Abdi will be able to make at Wednesday, but the midfielder certainly seems very happy to have joined the Owls and he has expressed his delight at being able to reunite with former Watford teammate Fernando Forestieri at Hillsborough.

Speaking about his relationship with Forestieri, Abdi told the Sheffield Star, “I met Fernando the day before I signed for Wednesday and was very happy to see him. I always enjoyed playing with him and [Daniel] Pudil at Watford.
“Fernando is brilliant. When he’s confident, he is one of the best players in the Championship. I’m very happy he plays for us. I enjoyed playing with Fernando at Watford. We had a good partnership. Hopefully it will be the same at Wednesday.”
Abdi marked his debut for Wednesday against Port Vale in a pre-season friendly on Sunday with a goal and the midfielder will be hopeful of building on that fine performance in the upcoming season.
