Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been given permission to speak to Leicester City.

McCoist, who played for Rangers in the 1980s and 1990s and managed the Ibrox club from 2011 until 2014, believes that problems between Rodgers and Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell is leading the former Liverpool boss to move to Leicester.
As announced on Celtic’s official website, the Hoops have given Rodgers permission to speak to the Premier League club.
McCoist has also suggested that Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke may not be willing to leave Kille and move to Celtic right now.
The Scottish Sun quotes McCoist as saying: “I think that’s certainly the case. Brendan made it clear he wanted to strengthen the squad with players and I’m not sure that Peter allowed him to do that. That’s one of the reasons I wouldn’t be totally surprised at Brendan leaving.
“I think Brendan has always wanted to move on and maybe go to Europe or certainly go down to England.”
McCoist added: “I think a lot of people automatically thought Stevie might have been a natural successor to Brendan.
“I’m not sure that the timing of Brendan’s departure suits Steve Clarke. The one man it certainly would is Neil Lennon.”

Interim manager
Celtic are in a strong position in the Scottish Premiership, and while the potential departure of Rodgers will be a blow to the Hoops and and will be a shock, they do have enough good players to win the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup.
Appointing Neil Lennon on a short-term deal until the end of the season may not be a bad idea.
After all, Lennon has been a success at Celtic, and he is also without a managerial job at the moment.
