Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are linked with Ally McCoist, but he wants the Sunderland job.

But Rangers may miss the chance to appoint McCoist, unless they are swift in offering him the job.
McCoist has reportedly announced his interest in the Sunderland job, which has recently become vacant following Simon Grayson’s departure.

And that could force Rangers’ hand, as they will not want to risk missing out on all their top targets.
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is currently the favourite to take over from Pedro Caixinha at Rangers, but McCoist remains a strong candidate.

Some Sunderland fans have been enthused by the potential of McCoist managing them, which adds further strength behind his cause to take over at the Stadium of Light.
And if Rangers are considering putting McCoist in charge, they really need to come to a decision sooner rather than later, otherwise they could miss their chance.
