Glasgow Rangers loanee Joe Worrall made a dreadful mistake as the Ibrox side returned to action.

With Connor Goldson absent, Steven Gerrard picked Worrall alongside Gareth McAuley at the heart of the Gers defence for their trip to face Kilmarnock. And everything appeared to be going perfectly for the Light Blues at Rugby Park as Jermain Defoe marked his competitive debut for the club with an early goal.
However, the two teams went into the break level after a major error from the centre-back. Worrall seemed to have all the time in the world to move the ball on, but somehow still spent too long on it and was dispossessed as he attempted to play a pass back to Allan McGregor, allowing Eamonn Brophy to equalise.
And McCoist did not hold back in his criticism of the Nottingham Forest-owned ace, suggesting he would not have kept him on the pitch for much longer.

“You’ve got a game of football to win and that’s the most important thing, and Rangers for that period after that goal were absolutely all over the place.”

It is a huge shame for Worrall that he did make such a mistake. It was during the Gers’ final fixture before the winter break that the Ibrox faithful were treated to what must be considered his best performance for the club as Rangers beat Celtic.
He had divided opinion before that game. And unfortunately for the defender, it appears that he now has everything to prove once again.
