Sunderland are currently sat at the bottom of the Championship table.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist looks on during the Scottish League Cup Quarter final between Rangers and St Johnstoneat Ibrox Stadium on October 28, 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Ally McCoist has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 16th November, that he is concerned about Sunderland supporters.

McCoist feels that Sunderland fans have always been among the most loyal supporters in football.

However, he has seen a distinct change in their approach, after Sunderland’s struggles in recent tims.

Not only have attendances dropped at the Stadium of Light, but there is now an atmosphere of negativity at the Black Cats home ground.

And McCoist is worried that Sunderland fans have lost all their positivity.

He said: “The one thing that concerns me as Sunderland supporter, I fear for the first time I can remember that there is a deflation among the Sunderland fans.

“They’ve always been the most optimistic supporters, and I see them suffering a bit at the moment.”

Sunderland fans can hardly be blamed for losing their optimism, as the last two seasons have been awful for them.

Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League last term, and they have won just one match in the league so far this campaign.

The Black Cats are currently sat at the bottom of the Championship table, with concerns that they could suffer back-to-back relegations rising.
