Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want Kyle Lafferty at Ibrox, and former Gers manager Ally McCoist says that he would be a good signing.

Rangers have been linked with a move for former Ibrox forward Kyle Lafferty this summer, with The Daily Star reporting that Steven Gerrard’s side are interested in the Heart of Midlothian star.
Ibrox club Rangers have made an improved offer for Lafferty after their initial bid of £200,000 and then a cash-plus-player offer was turned down by Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts, according to the report.
It seems that the Glasgow giants are keen on securing the services of Lafferty in the summer transfer window, but former Celtic striker Chris Sutton does not think that the Northern Ireland international foward would be a good signing for the Gers.
Former Rangers striker and manager Ally McCoist, though, believes that Lafferty would be a good signing for Gerrard’s team.
Sutton said on BT Sport 1 this past Sunday afternoon (12:10pm, August 19, 2018): “I worry about his temperament and I don’t know whether Steven Gerrard needs that risk.
“As a player, I like him, but I think if you are asking me who would I pick, Morelos over Lafferty every day.”
McCoist said on BT Sport 1 this past Sunday afternoon (12:10pm, August 19, 2018) when asked if Lafferty would make a difference at Rangers: “Yes, he would make a difference. I think Rangers are short in forward areas, particularly at centre-forward.
“I think Kyle Lafferty is a player that would certainly be beneficial to the Rangers squad. I think he scores goals; more importantly, I think, he scores big goals.”
Good signing for Rangers?
Lafferty was on the books of Rangers from 2008 until 2012, and the Northern Ireland international knows all about the pressure and the demands of playing for the Gers.
The 30-year-old will bring a wealth of experience to the current Rangers team and will make them better.
