Kent has starred for Rangers since joining on loan from Liverpool in the summer.

Ally McCoist admitted prior to Rangers’ Scottish League Cup semi-final loss to Aberdeen on BT Sport that he understands why Steven Gerrard wants to sign Ryan Kent permanently.
The Gers suffered a 1-0 loss to Aberdeen at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon despite dominating possession, without failing to create any clear-cut chances.
Umar Sadiq was given his first start of the season, with Alfredo Morelos suspended and Kyle Lafferty cup tied. The AS Roma loanee struggled to make any kind of impact.
Rangers legend McCoist was impressed with Kent’s performance, though, and claimed before the semi-final clash that he understood why Rangers want to land the Liverpool winger on a permanent basis – beyond his season-long loan.
“He was absolutely terrific against Vienna,” McCoist told BT Sport’s live broadcast of the semi-final. “It’s no surprise that Gerrard wants to sign him because he’s playing out of his skin. He’s in a rich vein of form.”
The Record have claimed that Rangers would have to cough up around £2million to land Kent, who has a contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2022. Kent has admitted that he would consider a permanent move to Ibrox.

The 21-year-old’s stats do not reflect the impact he has had at Ibrox, scoring only three goals and creating only one assist during his 19 league and cup appearances for Gerrard’s side.
It is his direct, attack-minded drive that helps Rangers get up the pitch and gain territory, as well as his ability to beat the man and cause problems for the opposition defence.
He will be looking to do that on Wednesday night, as the Gers play host to Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership. Sitting in fifth, they could jump to third with a win if Celtic and Livingston drop points against Dundee and St. Johnstone respectively.
