Ally McCoist responds when asked if Pedro Caixinha is on borrowed time at Glasgow Rangers

Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to take on Hamilton this evening.

Ally McCoist has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 29th September, that it is still early to be suggesting that Pedro Caixinha should lose his job at Glasgow Rangers.

Caixinha has come under pressure at Ibrox, with Rangers struggling to live up to expectations this season.

Caixinha promised that he would ensure that Rangers manage to compete with Celtic this campaign, but they are already eight points behind Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The Light Blues are sat in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership table, and calls for Caixinha to lose his job are growing louder.

However, when asked whether the Portuguese boss was on borrowed time at Ibrox, McCoist suggested that there were some reasons for optimism.

“I don’t know. It’s very early still,” the former Rangers striker and manager said. “I believe there is an improvement in Rangers this season, but what’s going against them is that Brendan has improved Celtic.”

Rangers were beaten 2-0 by Celtic in their last outing, and Caixinha has demanded his reaction from his side in tonight’s fixture against Hamilton.

Rangers travel to the SuperSeal Stadium knowing that a victory could lift them up to third place in the Scottish Premiership standings.
