Ally McCoist has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 27th October, that he believes Charlie Adam would be a good appointment for Glasgow Rangers.

Adam may not have worked in coaching before, but he has expressed a desire to get into management.

And McCoist has suggested that the Stoke City man could be a good appointment for Rangers, as he knows the club so well.

McCoist said: “Charlie’s a great lad, and he was fantastic for Walter and myself at Rangers.

“Coming towards the end of his career, he’ll be looking to get towards coaching and management – you know, certainly.”

Rangers are looking for a new manager following the departure of Pedro Caixinha yesterday.

Caixinha was let go after a what has been a poor start to the campaign from Rangers.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is seen prior to the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Light Blues’ draw with Kilmarnock ended up being the final straw for Caixinha, with the Portuguese boss sacked the day after.

Adam is unlikely to want to end his playing career just yet, even if he was offered the Rangers job, but he certainly could become an option for the Glasgow side in the future.

At the moment Graeme Murty has been placed in temporary charge of Rangers for their match against Hearts tomorrow.
