Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was taken off in the closing stages of his side’s match last night.

Morelos had led the line well for 70 minutes, but Gerrard swapped him for Kyle Lafferty in the final stages of the match, as Rangers fought to protect their clean sheet.
Taking his side’s main goalscorer off, with the scores locked at 0-0, was a move which divided opinion at Ibrox.
But McCoist felt that Gerrard had made a smart choice, as he was protecting the Rangers’ front man.

Morelos was just one booking away from suspension in the Europa League, and with Rangers’ last game crucial to their progress, Gerrard ensured the Colombian would be available.
“He can now play in the next game and regardless of what happens tonight Rangers’ next game will be vitally important, so that for me is a really intelligent substitution,” McCoist said.
Even without Morelos on the pitch, Rangers managed to hold on to an impressive point.
Rangers now just need to win in their final European match against Rapid Wien to progress to the knockout stages.
