Rangers beat Hearts 2-1 at Tynecastle this afternoon.

Rangers have moved to the summit of the Scottish Premiership after beating Hearts 2-1 at Tynecastle this afternoon – much to Ally McCoist’s delight.
The Gers were back in domestic action this afternoon as they travelled to Tynecastle to take on Hearts, just days after a battling 0-0 Europa League draw with Villarreal.
Steven Gerrard made four changes to his side in order to bring some freshness to the team, but Rangers fell behind in the first half when Gareth McAuley put through his own net.
However, Rangers fought their way back into the game as Connor Goldson bundled home an equaliser, and Alfredo Morelos turned the game on its head to make it 2-1.
There was still more drama as Scott Arfield was given a red card for a bizarre challenge on goalkeeper Zdenek Zlamal, but Rangers held on for all three points.
With Celtic in Scottish League Cup final action today, Rangers have now moved to the top of the Scottish Premiership table; a huge moment for the club and fans.

After the game, pundit and Rangers hero Ally McCoist spoke to BT Sport (13:55pm) and celebrated the victory, calling it ‘massive’ whilst feeling that Rangers can now deservedly feel they can ask questions of Celtic after their win.
“Massive,” said McCoist. “You can see from the reaction of the players and the supporters, it means the world to them. It’s the first time they’ve gone top of the league for a long, long time, and all of a sudden, you’re now in a position to maybe ask Celtic a question, Celtic clearly still have the game in hand, but Rangers are in a position they could’ve probably only dreamed about, but make no mistake about it, they deserve to be there, and they’re worthy of the victory today,” he added.
