Ally McCoist suggested during BT Sport’s live post-match coverage of Rangers’ goalless draw with Hibernian (19/12 from 19:15) that Liverpool loanee Adam Bogdan staked a genuine claim to be man of the match after a sensational display in the stalemate.

Bogdan would have probably not expected to be involved against Steven Gerrard’s side, but an injury to Ofir Marciano meant that the Reds loanee was brought on after just 14 minutes on Wednesday.

But despite the unexpected introduction, Bogdan was superb as Hibs held the Gers to a goalless draw at Easter Road, producing saves to deny the likes of Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier.

And after the game, McCoist noted that Bogdan was certainly a contender to win the man of the match award ahead of Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack.

“Ryan Jack, man of the match, deservedly so, but also Hibs’ substitute goalkeeper was sensational when he came on. He really was. He’d a great case for man of the match also,” he told BT Sport.

It would be a major shock if Bogdan came close to playing for Liverpool again. As reported by BBC Sport, he is out of contract at the end of the season and is scheduled to spend the rest of the campaign with Hibs.

The Reds are certainly not missing him either with Alisson proving to be a world-class signing and Simon Mignolet arguably one of the better backup stoppers in the Premier League.

But he will be hoping that his time away from Anfield will help him secure a good move when he is set to be a free agent at the end of the campaign.
