Ally McCoist has praised three Celtic players on TalkSPORT when analysing Wednesday night’s 3-0 win over Old Firm rivals Rangers. The Gers legend was amazed by Josip Juranovic, Reo Hatate and Jota’s performances.
Japan international Hatate, who cost Celtic a bargain £1.4million at the beginning of the January window, scored a sublime brace as Celtic cruised to a stunning 3-0 win at Parkhead. Their first-half display was incredible.
Croatia international Juranovic returned to the side in his natural right-back position, having played on the left at times this season. On-loan Portuguese ace Jota also came back – and was electric on Celtic’s left.
Rangers legend McCoist was magnanimous in his praise of Celtic and three Hoops players that sparkled on Wednesday night. He branded defender Juranovic, a £2.5million (Sun) signing, as “outstanding” on the night.
“Celtic were excellent. Rangers could not handle the intensity. Hatate scored a couple of goals and played well, however, I thought Juranovic was outstanding, and Jota. The better team and by some considerable distance.”

The signing of Aaron Ramsey could now be even more crucial. Rangers looked devoid of any quality until Ryan Jack entered the fray on Wednesday night and they need a boost from somewhere. Ramsey can provide that.
But the defeat to Celtic is damning. While there is still everything to play for with only a point in it, the boost and feel-good feeling at Celtic is likely to see them go on and continue winning – while Rangers need a turnaround.
They are going through a lull under Gio van Bronckhorst and a tide change is needed. Ramsey has spoken out about needing time to get back to full fitness, but Rangers need him right now.
