Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have had an excellent start to life under Steven Gerrard.

Speaking to BT Sport, Ally McCoist has heralded Steven Gerrard’s decision to bring Gary McAllister with him to Rangers in the summer.
Gerrard has enjoyed an excellent start to life as Rangers manager since taking the reins at Ibrox in May.
The Gers are 180 minutes away from reaching the group stages of the Europa League after winning three qualification ties on the bounce.
Gerrard’s side have also taken four points from a possible six in the Scottish Premiership – a 1-1 draw at Aberdeen being the only blemish after the 10-man Blues conceded a last-minute goal at Pittodrie.
The Liverpool icon and his playing staff have been getting a lot of credit in recent weeks, but McCoist feels that McAllister, who the 38-year-old played alongside at Anfield once upon a time, deserves a mention.
He told BT Sport: “I’ve been telling everyone not to get carried away and I’m getting carried away myself! It’s amazing.
“It’s very important to mention as well his number two Gary McAllister who doesn’t get a lot of mentions. That choice itself was nothing short of genius.
“I think Gary’s a great coach but he knows the Scottish game, knows Rangers and knows the rest of the league.”
Rangers kick off their Scottish League Cup campaign tomorrow with a tricky visit to Kilmarnock, but few would back against Gerrard and McAllister maintaining the feel-good factor.
