Ally McCoist gave his take on talkSPORT (7:23am, January 19, 2021) on Celtic manager Neil Lennon’s explosive comments yesterday.

The Rangers legend said that he did not agree with Celtic boss Lennon’s remarks.

Lennon hit back at criticism of the Hoops going to Dubai for a week and hit out at the Scottish government for instructing 13 of their players to self-isolate upon their arrival, as reported by BBC Sport.

McCoist said on talkSPORT (7:23am, January 19, 2021): “It has been a PR disaster. I can’t remember, I honestly can’t remember an own goal like it in Scottish football for a long time. I saw the whole interview from Neil, and I can’t agree with Neil.

“It sounds as though his chief executive Peter Lawwell can’t agree with him. Peter Lawwell came out and apologised, and Neil came out and said something different.”

Are Celtic’s title chances over?

Celtic are having a torrid season at the moment, and it does appear that they will fail in their quest to win the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row.

The Hoops are second in the league table at the moment with 45 points from 21 matches, as many as 21 points behind leaders and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers.

However, the Bhoys have three games in hand, and there are also Old Firm derbies left to be play.

The title is Rangers’ to lose, and with the Gers yet to suffer a defeat in the league this season, the Ibrox club will be very confident of getting the job done.
