Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were beaten last night by Kilmarnock, in what was a disappointing result for Steven Gerrard’s men.

Defoe took no time at all to open his Rangers goalscoring account, when he tapped in from close range in the 12th minute.
However, McCoist felt that Defoe was not particularly involved otherwise, as Rangers sunk to a 2-1 defeat.
“Out with the goal, I thought he was very quiet,” McCoist said. “He did what you’d expect him to do and that’s take a chance. I’m not sure him and Morelos can play together.
“To me [Morelos] looks as the kind of striker who likes to play in a three.”
Steven Gerrard opted to partner Alfredo Morelos and Defoe together for Rangers last night, but it seems that they still need some work.
Morelos and Defoe did not link up particularly well, as Rangers put in a very disappointing display.

Gerrard’s side did have the lead, but an error from Joe Worrall let Kilmarnock back into the game and from that point onwards Rangers looked disjointed.
Rangers have now slipped down to third place in the Scottish Premiership table, and have a three point gap to make up on their rivals Celtic, if they are to get back into title contention.
