Ally McCoist has hailed the work Ange Postecoglou is doing at Celtic amid claims that Tottenham Hotspur should appoint him as their next manager.

The treble-chasing Celtic boss has been on Tottenham’s reported list as Daniel Levy looks to replace Antonio Conte, but he might have just pushed higher up after the news broke on Thursday that Arne Slot is going to stay at Feyenoord.

Rangers legend McCoist was asked if Spurs should be looking at Ange Postecoglou and he made it clear that one thing the 57-year-old does is ‘entertain’, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast.

Did Slot use Tottenham to get a fancier contract at Feyenoord? Or was it a case of a certain Daniel Levy not wanting to pay the compensation?

Well, if it’s the latter, and the Spurs chairman comes knocking for Postecoglou, then Celtic might just react in a similar fashion.

But this was McCoist’s response when asked if Spurs should look to appoint ‘Big Ange’ as their next manager.

“He does (play attacking football),” said McCoist. “Big Ange has done exceptionally well, exceptionally well. He has got his team playing in a manner that will certainly entertain (Tottenham).”

POSTECOGLOU DOING AN AMAZING JOB AT CELTIC

When the Greek-born Australian first stepped foot into Celtic, the feeling, even amongst his own fans, was ‘who is this guy?’.

The Bhoys had just lost the Premiership title to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, so they needed picking up.

And whilst many raised their eyebrows at Postecoglou before he could step foot in the dugout, they are now clapping their hands at the work he has done, as he is on the verge of helping Celtic win the treble this season.
