It looks like Dele Alli will play no part for Tottenham Hotspur today.
Spurs visit Chelsea in a huge Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.
Victory would see Tottenham establish a two-point lead at the top of the table, but Alli will be missing it seems.
The 24-year-old impressed in the Lilywhites’ Europa League win over Ludogorets in midweek, but it hasn’t been enough to get him a spot in the squad today.
Alli posted a photo on Instagram this afternoon and it appears as if he is training from the comfort of his own home and not with the rest of his team-mates in preparation to face the Blues.
We might hear from Mourinho after the game but it’s probably not an injury-related absence.
Alli has been in and out of Mourinho’s squads for much of the season and it’s more than likely a case of the Portuguese leaving him out for tactical reasons.
And if that’s the case, with January on the horizon, there’s bound to be a lot more speculation regarding his future over the coming weeks.
