The Juventus star suffered an injury yesterday, and could miss his side’s Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Juventus FC coach Massimiliano Allegri looks on before the TIM Cup match between Atalanta BC and Juventus at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia on January 30, 2018 in Bergamo, Italy.

Spurs are set to play Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League knock-out tie next week, and they might have just received another boost in their quest to reach the quarter finals of the competition, after Max Allegri admitted that Blaise Matuidi is a huge doubt for the clash after sustaining an injury against Sassuolo yesterday, as quoted by Calcio Mercato.

The Old Lady have bene in fantastic form recently, winning their last 10 matches in all competitions, and they will present an incredibly tough challenge for Tottenham.

Spurs, though, are on a decent run of their own, having not lost a game since December 16th, so the tie between the two sides should be a closely fought two-legged affair, on paper at least.

Allegri addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s superb 7-0 win over Sassuolo in Serie A yesterday, and admitted that Matuidi is a doubt for his side’s clash with Tottenham in Turin next Tuesday, as quoted by Calcio Mercato:

“The only injury we have is Matuidi and tomorrow we will know the gravity of it. He has the traits that when I play with 3 midfielders I can play either him or Sturaro.”

Juventus have appeared in two of the last three Champions League finals, and the experience and nouse currently amongst their squad will mean that Tottenham need to be at their very best in order to progress through to the next round of the competition.

With Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado already likely to miss out, however, and now Matuidi being a doubt for the clash, Spurs will be quietly confident of reaching the next stage.
