M’Baye Niang is reportedly stalling on a move to Everton.
According to Calcio Mercato, AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang is stalling over a move to Everton in the hope of Arsenal making a late bid to sign him.
Niang, 22, was one of Europe’s hottest young prospects during his time with Caen, but he has struggled to live up to his potential with Milan, scoring just 12 goals in 77 games for the Italian side.

Loan spells with Montpellier, Genoa and Watford have failed to reap much success for Niang, but he is attracting interest this summer as Milan look to cash in on the French attacker.
Calcio Mercato report that Everton have made a move for Niang, but he is stalling over a decision in the hope of Premier League rivals Arsenal making a late bid to sign him.
Everton have enjoyed a strong summer so far with Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen joining the club, and whilst Niang would bring some pace and power to the Everton attack, they should now pull the plug on their pursuit.
Ronald Koeman’s men need players who want to play for Everton, and if Niang is having hesitation over a move to Goodison Park and would even rather join Arsenal, then the Toffees must take the decision out of his hands.
Having failed to live up to his potential so far, it would be something of a huge surprise to see Arsenal make a move for Niang anyway, and it would be far from a disaster for Everton to miss out on Niang anyway.

Primarily a left winger, Niang showed glimpses of his quality during his loan spell at Watford, but with Malaga’s Sandro Ramirez set to join the Toffees for a fraction of the cost, Niang may not be a key player even if he did choose to join Everton, and given that Milan are so willing to let him go, there have to be questions asked over whether he’d really improve Koeman’s options enough to persist with a deal when he may not want to join.
Everton left their business fairly late last year and have so far done some great work this summer, with Director of Football Steve Walsh seemingly keen to get business done quickly – and with Niang allegedly refusing to give Everton an answer, they should move on to find an alternative, leaving Niang merely hoping for a move to Arsenal that may or may not materialise.
