Everton are long term admirers of Watford’s Troy Deeney.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce is are keen on signing Troy Deeney, according to The Mirror.
Deeney is being eyed up as a solution to the club’s striking problem, with the club still looking to replace last season’s top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku.

Deeney has been more of a bit-part player at Watford this season under Marco Silva, and he is a long term target for the Toffees.
He has been wanted by the last two Everton bosses, dating back to 2015.
And then Deeney was linked to Everton again this summer.

The Sun reported he was being lined up for a late swoop by Ronald Koeman in August.
All of this could convince Deeney that Everton’s interest in him is not simply an opportunist desire from Allardyce, but reflective of long term admiration from the club.
This season he has scored two league goals in four starts, with a further six appearances coming from the bench.
