Everton are currently languishing in mid-table in the Premier League.
Everton boss Sam Allardyce addressed the media today ahead of his side’s trip to Watford tomorrow, and highlighted the need for his players to improve their away form, if they are to enjoy a successful campaign, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Toffees currently sit in ninth position in the Premier League table, after their return of 34 points from the 27 games they have played thus far, but they have the fourth worst away record in the division, having picked up just eight points on their travels this term.
Much was expected of the Merseyside outfit at the start of the campaign, but they have so far failed to deliver, although Allardyce has certainly turned them into a more solid outfit since taking over around the mid-season mark.
The 63-year-old spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference today, and highlighted his side’s poor away form as something that needs to be improved as a matter of urgency, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“If we can improve our away results and continue our home results we can look up rather than down. There has been an improvement since I’ve been here, but for me it’s still not good enough. And we want to improve on that.”
Everton could climb up to seventh in the table with a win at Vicarage Road tomorrow, should results elsewhere go their way, but in order to do that, they will need to show much more than they have on their travels in recent months.
