Everton have been extremely active already during this month’s transfer window.
Danny Mills was a guest on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme on Wednesday January 24th, and responded to a question asking him what Everton need to do during the remainder of the transfer window, if Sam Allardyce is to guide his side to a successful Premier League campaign.
The Toffees have already spent heavily this season, bringing in the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford, Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun, but it is clearly evident that Allardyce needs to add further quality to his attacking ranks.
The Blues currently sit in ninth position in the Premier League table, although they sit a distant 14 points adrift of the top six, with inconsistency undermining their chances of finishing inside the Europa League spots.
Danny Mills insisted that Allardyce will be looking to bring in a proven goalscorer before the transfer window slams shut, during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme:
“I think if he can bring in another striker he will be very, very happy. He knows they need an out and out goalscorer, if he can find that I think he will be very, very happy.”
Having already spent a combined £47 million on Walcott and Tosun already this month, it is unclear whether Allardyce will be backed further in the transfer market, but if he can bring another established goalscorer to Goodison Park, Everton will have every chance of finishing inside the top seven.
