West Ham United are reportedly planning to keep Slaven Bilic until the end of his contract – just like they did with Sam Allardyce.
According to The Mirror, West Ham United have no plans to sack Slaven Bilic, and want to keep him at the club until the end of the season.
The Hammers picked up a vital 1-0 home win over Swansea City on Saturday afternoon, with substitute Diafra Sakho coming off the bench to score the winning goal in the dying seconds at the London Stadium.
Sakho’s introduction was actually booed by West Ham fans, but Bilic was vindicated late in the day, grabbing a win which may just ease some of the pressure on him.
Bilic oversaw four defeats in the first six Premier League games of the season, leading some fans to call for his head, especially after such a disappointing campaign last term.
Other managers have been linked with moves to the London Stadium, but The Mirror now claim that West Ham intend to give Bilic until the end of the season to really kick on and get results.
With games against Burnley, Brighton and Crystal Palace coming up after the international break, West Ham hope Bilic can string together a real run of results and push towards the hope half of the table.
The alleged decision from David Gold and David Sullivan is reminiscent of the situation Sam Allardyce faced in the 2014-15 season, with the Hammers giving him until the end of his contract.
West Ham eventually decided to move on from Allardyce and replace him with Bilic, and the Croatian will be hoping that his fortunes somewhat differ to Allardyce’s, in the sense of earning a new contract and keeping his job in East London.
