Allan Saint-Maximin is seemingly delighted that Newcastle United have brought back Andy Carroll.

Newcastle announced Carroll’s return on deadline day, with the target-man striker signing a contract back with his boyhood club.

Carroll needs to prove his fitness before he plays for Steve Bruce’s side.

But Newcastle new boy Saint-Maximin seems to be excited to link up with the returning hero.

The thought of a partnership between Saint-Maximin and Carroll is actually very exciting.

Saint-Maximin is a brilliant dribbler, who can back defenders up, and if he can get crosses into the box frequently then Carroll could thrive.

Newcastle will simply be hoping that Carroll can stay off the treatment table, as when he is fit there is no questioning his threat.

Newcastle begin their campaign on Sunday, when they take on Arsenal at St. James’ Park.
