Some Newcastle United fans have praised Allan Saint-Maximin on Twitter for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur.
What’s the story?
Newcastle have suffered a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this evening.
The Magpies took the lead, but Spurs scored three goals and eventually won the match.
It was a disappointing display yet again from Steve Bruce’s side, but one player who did well for Newcastle was Saint-Maximin.
The 24-year-old is arguably the best player at the Magpies.
The Frenchman was doing his part for Newcastle against Tottenham.
Saint-Maximin was a problem for the Tottenham defence throughout his time on the pitch and went close to scoring as well.
The Frenchman took two shots, took 45 touches, played one key pass, and put in one cross.
What are Newcastle United fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Newcastle fans were impressed by the performance of Saint-Maximin against Tottenham.
Well, some of them anyway.
It is clear that a lot of the players from the current Newcastle squad will be moved on.
But, we are confident that Saint-Maximin will not be one of them.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) should be looking to bring in quality players and build a strong team, with Saint-Maximin a key figure.
