Liverpool were left gutted on Saturday afternoon as they couldn’t hang on to beat Newcastle United at Anfield.

The Reds were beyond dominant in the first half, but whilst Mohamed Salah found the net, his teammates squandered chance after chance.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were made to pay in injury time, as Joe Willock popped up with an equaliser, continuing his super-sub status,

Allan Saint-Maximin was a thorn in Liverpool’s side for much of the game, and Fabinho decided on a particular way of dealing with him.

As Saint-Maximin attempted to break in the second half, he knocked the ball past Fabinho and looked to be driving towards the Liverpool defence.

Fabinho wasn’t about to put his side in danger though, and he absolutely flattened Saint-Maximin to stop the counter attack.

Saint-Maximin has reacted today, joking that he thought he was going to beat Fabinho in a foot race before being sent flying.

The winger noted that Fabinho is still his best mate having previously been at Monaco together, and wished he had been sent off for sending him crashing to the ground.
