It’s been a pretty good weekend to be a Newcastle United fan.
The Magpies ended the season with a 2-0 win at Fulham, with Joe Willock scoring for a seventh game in a row.
Newcastle finish the Premier League campaign in 12th place, ending the season in fine form under Steve Bruce.
With five wins in the last eight games, Newcastle have finished well clear of the bottom three, and fans even got to laugh at Sunderland.
Newcastle’s bitter rivals took in Lincoln City in the League One play-offs on Saturday, and had overturned the 2-0 first-leg deficit to be level on terms.
However, Tom Hopper’s header sent Lincoln through to the final, meaning Sunderland must now prepare for yet another season in the third tier.
Newcastle fans have been loving it, and winger Allan Saint-Maximin enhanced his hero status by joining in the mocking of the Black Cats.

Saint-Maximin said he was looking for a Sunderland chant sent to him in March which claimed that Sunderland were going up and Newcastle were going down.
Rather than meeting in the Championship next season, Newcastle stayed up comfortably and Sunderland couldn’t win promotion, so they won’t be seeing Saint-Maximin any time soon.
The French wide man couldn’t resist a dig at the Black Cats, winding up their fans on Twitter as they reflect on another missed opportunity.
