Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin is returning from injury.

Newcastle United new boy Allan Saint-Maximin has told The Chronicle that he’s come in to train on his day off today in order to try and play against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Magpies have made a poor start to the season, losing 1-0 at home to Arsenal before a 3-1 thumping at Norwich City last weekend.
Newcastle need to get their season going under new boss Steve Bruce, but their chances of picking up a result away at Tottenham look slim at best.
Bruce may need to make some tactical changes to give Spurs a fright, and fans are hoping to see a more attacking line-up sooner rather than later.
Miguel Almiron up front with Joelinton hasn’t worked, and fans want new boy Saint-Maximin added into the mix from the start, having been a substitute against Arsenal.
The pacy attacker, signed from Nice this summer, missed out at Norwich through injury, and it’s unclear whether Bruce will actually gamble on the Frenchman starting against Spurs.

However, he has admitted that he has come into training on his day off today in order to try and get fit for this weekend’s game – and if he can get through training today and tomorrow, he thinks he can play against Spurs.
“I think there is a chance because I work hard, I do a lot of training,” said Saint-Maximin. “I’ll train on Thursday – normally it’s a day off but I’ll train then – and I think I can train three days and can see if I can play against Tottenham. I feel a lot better and I think if I get through the training on Friday I can play,” he added.
