Micah Richards has stated that he is backing Celtic ‘all the way’ for the Scottish Premiership title ahead of Rangers, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live’s IG story.
The former Manchester City defender shared that ‘my boy’ Joe Hart, who is Celtic’s number one, is a reason why he is backing the Hoops ahead of their bitter rivals.
Both Richards and Hart played together as youngsters at Man City, including winning the Premier League title.
And they also represented England with one another, with Hart hoping to add another top-flight title to his armoury.
Nonetheless, this is the response Richards gave when he was asked about who he is backing for the title in Scotland between Celtic and Rangers.
“Celtic or Rangers,” said Richards. “Both unbelievable teams, but, my boy Joe Hart is at Celtic, so I have to say Celtic all the way.”
Both Celtic and Rangers dropped points over the weekend, with Ange Postecoglou’s side recording a goalless draw away at Hibs.
In the later kick-off, Rangers had the chance to close the gap on their neighbours to just one point.
But, after going 2-0 up inside half an hour against Motherwell, they let that slip in the second half and had to walk away with only a point.
There are yet to be more twists and turns to this title race yet, no doubt, but the Gers are, at this moment in time, going to lose their crown.
