Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour has wished Jordan McEneff ‘all the very best’ on Instagram after he was released by Arsenal.

The 21-year-old, along with a few other youngsters such as Joel Lopez, were told their time at Arsenal had come to an end this summer.

Bukayo Saka also sent a message to the midfielder by wishing him ‘good luck’ for the future, alongside another rising Hale-End star in Charlie Patino in the comments section of McEneff’s post.

It’s not easy breaking through Arsenal’s system, nor the ship Chelsea are running across London.

If you do get a sniff of first-team action and push forward, then as Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have proven, it puts you well on the map.

The duo are now England internationals, with Smith Rowe recently playing for the Under 21s – he was previously with the senior side.

Whilst Saka has been starting for the Three Lions during their recent UEFA Nation League encounters.

The duo are examples to those coming through Arsenal’s academy that if you can showcase your worth, then you will be picked by Mikel Arteta.

Patino, who made his debut for the Gunners this season, is hoping to become a regular for the following campaign.

There is a chance because, with Europa League football returning to the Emirates, this Arsenal squad is going to be used from top to bottom.

Arteta has used the academy stars before in Europe, with Smith Rowe breaking through last time out.

Perhaps a few more faces will make their mark next term because it’s going to be a big one for Arteta.
