Jose Enrique has claimed that he wishes Naby Keita ‘all the best’ if he does indeed leave Liverpool for Borussia Dortmund, as he posted on Twitter.

The former left-back was reacting to rumours that Dortmund are ‘keeping tabs’ on the midfielder, as Enrique thinks ‘it will be for the best’ if he leaves Liverpool.

Keita is currently out injured and it has been a constant theme throughout his four years on Merseyside.

Last season, he played the best football of his career at Anfield during the first half of the campaign.

The 27-year-old added some brilliant goals to his locker, including a number of impressive volleys and opening the scoring during that memorable win at Old Trafford.

But now rumours of him leaving are growing strong, as former left-back Enrique was pretty clear that Keita’s time is up at the club.

“I believe it will be the best for him and the club,” said Enrique. “He is not available enough for us, even if he has very good qualities.

“So, for me, if it’s true, then we wish him all the best and we move on. Keita for Bellingham maybe? It wouldn’t be a bad change.”

WRITING IS ON THE WALL FOR KEITA

With Keita’s contract running out next summer, it’s pretty obvious that a new deal won’t be signed.

It’s better for all parties if he were to secure a move in January because the Reds would want a transfer fee for the player.

But then again, from his own financial perspective and benefit, he would probably be better off signing a pre-contract agreement in the winter.

Either way, the expectations and hype with which the Guinea star arrived with haven’t been met and he will probably be booted out as Jurgen Klopp refreshes and revamps his midfield next summer.
